Step 2: Confirm that you're using a compatible charger

Charge the watch using only the USB-C magnetic wireless charger that comes with your watch purchase.

Pixel Watch 2: Charge the watch using only the USB-C fast charging cable that comes with your watch purchase.

Step 3: Confirm there is a connection to the charger

You'll receive a notification if your watch isn't placed correctly on the charger.

  1. Remove the watch from the charging dock entirely.
  2. Set the watch back down on the dock.
Note: For Pixel Watch 2, the watch will only fit on the dock in one way. Your watch won't charge if it's placed on the dock in the wrong direction. Make sure the back of the Watch is clean and the charging pins are not stuck or damaged.
  3. Once the percent charged is visible on the watch screen, you'll know the issue is resolved.

Step 6: Turn off the Battery Defender feature

Battery Defender is a battery protection feature on Pixel Watch that helps extend the battery's lifespan by automatically pausing your watch from charging if it's been on the charger for 4 or more days. This prevents the battery from being fully charged for too long, which can lead to premature battery degradation. If the battery percentage remains at 80% regardless of how long it's been charging for, you may receive a notification on your screen letting you know Battery Defender is on.

To charge your watch past 80%, remove the watch from the charger and then reset it back down on the magnetic charging dock. This will shut off Battery Defender and allow the watch to fully charge.
