Set alarms and manage notifications on Google Pixel Watch

Learn how to set and edit alarms, manage notifications and set notification modes through each of their icons.

Manage alarms and notifications

Set an alarm

1. On your Google Pixel Watch, press the side button next to the crown.
2. Swipe up to view all apps.
3. Tap Alarm.
4. Tap Add .
5. Set a time tap Confirm .

Once your alarm has been created, it will be visible on the alarm screen.

Edit an alarm

Edit an alarm to:

• Change the alarm time
• Change how frequently the alarm goes off
• Turn the alarm vibration on or off
• Turn the alarm sound on or off
• Delete the alarm altogether

1. On your Google Pixel Watch, press the side button next to the crown.
2. Swipe up to view all apps.
3. Tap Alarm.
4. Tap the alarm that you want to edit. From here you can change its alarm settings.

Sync alarms

Copy your phone alarms by syncing them over to your Pixel Watch 2. Syncing your phone and your Pixel Watch 2 allows both devices to alert you for each alarm.

1. On your phone, open Clock .
2. Tap More Settings.
3. Turn on Alarm sync.
4. Select your watch and tap Sync.

Tap Alarm rings on to choose Adaptive ringing or Watch and phone.

Fix alarm sync issues

If the alarms on your watch and phone aren't syncing properly, check that the operating system on both devices has been updated to the latest version, and that the Clock app on both devices is also up to date.

Set up notifications

Set up the app and phone notifications that you want to receive on your Pixel Watch.

Turn on notifications

1. On your phone, open the Google Pixel Watch app .
2. Under 'Settings', tap Notifications.
3. Tap a watch or phone app from the list to turn its notifications on or off.

Turn notification sounds on or off

1. On your phone, open the Google Pixel Watch app .
2. Under 'Settings', tap Notifications.
3. Tap Mute notifications.
4. Tap a mute setting from the list to turn its sound or vibration on or off.

Check your settings

Settings on your Android phone

Setting and description	Fix
Phone notifications for the Pixel Watch app are turned off.	In your phone's settings, turn on notifications for the Pixel Watch app.
Phone notifications for the Pixel Watch app are set to silent.	In your phone's settings, turn off silent mode for the Pixel Watch app.

Settings in the Google Pixel Watch app on your phone

Setting and description	Fix
Pixel Watch app notifications are not turned on in Settings.	On the Pixel Watch app, go to Notifications Mute notifications. Make sure that the setting Hide silent notifications is turned off.
Notifications for the Pixel Watch app are set to silent on your phone and silent notifications are hidden in the Pixel Watch app.	On the Pixel Watch app, go to Watch preferences Sound and vibration. Make sure that the Hide silent notifications setting is turned off.
Notifications that you receive while using your phone do not appear on your watch if they're set to Mute.	On the Pixel Watch app, go to Notifications Mute notifications and make sure that the Mute notifications setting under 'Watch' is turned off.

Settings on the Google Pixel Watch

Setting and description	Fix
Notifications are set to silent when you are not wearing your watch.	On your Pixel Watch, go to Settings Vibration Silence watch when not being worn and make sure that the setting is turned off.
The following modes are turned on and therefore notifications are disabled: Bedtime Do Not Disturb Cinema mode	On your Pixel Watch, swipe down on the watch face make sure that the Bedtime, Do Not Disturb and Cinema mode icons are turned off. Note: Disabled icons have a dark background.

Check your connection

If you're not receiving notifications, confirm that your Pixel Watch is connected to Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, or that you have an LTE-enabled watch.

Important: The phone paired with your watch must be turned on to receive notifications.

Verify that you're connected to Bluetooth and Wi-Fi:

1. On the Google Pixel Watch, swipe down tap Settings .
2. Tap Connectivity Bluetooth turn on Bluetooth.
3. Swipe right to go back a menu and tap Wi-Fi turn on Wi-Fi.

If you're getting a 'network connection' error, you can fix issues connecting to Wi-Fi.

If you're not using Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, confirm that your watch has an LTE operator plan:

1. On Google Pixel Watch, swipe down tap Settings .
2. Tap Connectivity Mobile.

Set notification modes

Select a notification mode to temporarily pause multiple notifications at once. Swipe down from the top of the Google Pixel Watch screen and tap an icon to quickly switch to:

Aeroplane mode

Turns off all radios on your watch: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LTE, GPS/GNSS. You can turn each of these on independently.

Cinema mode

Turns off your screen temporarily and suppresses notifications and incoming calls.

Do Not Disturb

Turns off all notifications and silences incoming calls. Press and hold to customise exceptions for priority and repeat callers, alarms and media sounds.

Battery Saver

Turns off Always on display and tilt-to-wake settings.

Touch lock

Turns off the ability to navigate the screen with touch.

Bedtime mode

Turns off all notifications except alarms, priority and repeat callers. Pixel Watch 2 limits data connectivity during sleep.
