On behalf of the Pixel Tablet team, thank you so much for all the thoughtful questions, feedback, and suggestions! It's been awesome to hear about all the ways the device has made a difference in your lives and in your homes in just a few days since launching. I can't wait to hear what you think over the next few weeks and months using it.

I really appreciate all of you for taking an interest in the tablet, for using the device, and for sharing your experiences with us. I'll be keeping an eye on the discussions here, and our team is looking forward to sharing regular updates with this community!

A few questions:

Which Bluetooth channel is it compatible with for adding the physical keyboard option?

I saw in https://store.google.com/product/pixel_tablet_case?hl=en-US, the ring looks to support the long side of the tablet. Where would someone get a case where the ring supports the short side so that it could be stood up on the short side of the tablet (if let's say there are apps that render better in the vertical view rather than horizontal view)?

Any keyboard that supports the BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) HID Profile is compatible with Pixel Tablet.

The ring kickstand of the Pixel Tablet Case is designed so that the tablet can rest in landscape orientation, where the device spends most of its time. Case users can lean it in a portrait orientation too, though the experience won't be as stable.

My original idea was to switch from my Echo Show 10 to the Pixel Tablet as our smart home hub device. I'm not sure if this has already been addressed, but after getting the device completely setup and on the kitchen island it would only respond to my voice; not my wifes or either child. I went back through Google Home and checked the option for listen to everyone was enabled, it was. I went back through the assistant settings and ended up removing my own voice model to see if that would fix it, nope. Finally I went through chat support with Google and they walked me through the exact same steps and finally the tech told me it would only work with MY voice..even though there is an option that says 'listen to everyone'. After ending the chat I kept messing with it for a while and finally ended up setting up the lockscreen passcode, which I never intended to use as this is a smart home hub I want everyone in the house to use without having to unlock it just like we didn't have to unlock the Echo Show. After the lockscreen passcode was enabled the device finally recognized my family members voices. Why exactly is a lockscreen passcode/pattern/fingerprint a requirement for the device to recognize others voice commands? Why isn't this mentioned to the user upon skipping lockscreen security options as well?

TL;DR The Pixel Tablet will not recognize anyone except the account holder's voice commands in hub mode if a form of lockscreen security isn't enabled.

Why only 60Hz when 90Hz is barely $5 more expensive? 2x512Gb TLC spot price is barely $3. A 256GB version with 90Hz display cost less than $10 extra including packaging.

You can charge $50 or even $100 (if it's 120Hz) for it, seems a no brainer. Yet here we are.

Can you guys sync notifications? I receive Gmail notifications twice on both devices and I want to dismiss the notification on one device, and for that to also remove the notification on the other device

It would be great if Google returned to providing it's devices to the New Zealand Google store - Australia gets a good amount just a few hours away and there is a huge import and parallel import marker in NZ for Pixel devices

My biggest disappointment is that it is not yet a true replacement for the Google hub max although being positioned as such in the media.  Do you plan to improve its functionality over time to more closely act as a hub?

Tbh , it looks amazing. But it lacks the nest cam home monitoring.
I would have bought that as soon as it came out. I guess I'll wait for next year's innovation. Hopefully!
Great product though

My kids leave it off the dock and it's hard to find. Being able to make it ring from the dock or home app would be great. Also we used the previous hubs to call home and talk to the kids, but now if the tablet is off the speaker it doesn't call them on it.

Why did the Google photos video editing tools not get launched with this tsblet?

At £599 it's far too expensive for the UK market. How did that happen - it's only $499 in  the States and as I write $1 = £0.79.
Just can't see it selling well at this price, given that it's only a 60Hz screen with a mediocre speaker.

I was looking forward to buying this but I'll pass on this one.
