Troubleshooting USB-C port issues on a Pixel Tablet

If you are experiencing USB-C port issues on your Pixel Tablet, there are a few steps that you can take to troubleshoot these issues.

Check if the USB-C port is clean and dry

  1. Remove any accessories that are currently plugged into your tablet.
  2. If you have a protective case, remove it first to make sure that there is nothing that is blocking the USB port.
  3. Check the bottom part of your tablet to check if there is debris, moisture or dirt in the USB port.

Clean the USB-C port of your Pixel Tablet

  1. If the port or charging cable has debris inside, gently tap it against your hand, port down.
  2. You can also or use compressed air to remove debris. To use compressed air:
    • Position the nozzle of the compressed air a short distance from your USB port to control how much pressure is applied.
    • Make sure that you place the can in an upright position.
    • Use short blasts of the compressed air to loosen dirt and debris from the USB port.

Important:

  • If you need to remove debris or dirt from your USB port, don't use sharp or pointed objects to avoid damage.
  • Compressed air can damage your tablet's coating. Avoid using compressed air to clean the outside of your tablet.

Check if the USB-C port is damaged

If you have already checked your USB port for debris or cleaned it but are still having issues, check the USB port for damage.

  1. Check if the USB port looks burned, melted or corroded.
  2. Gently plug the charging cable in to check if it has good contact.
  3. If the port still doesn't work and you find your USB port to be damaged or broken, contact us.

Note: If you think that your charging cable is the problem, try a different cable to test. If the cable is damaged, you can get a replacement from the Google Store.
