Record your Pixel device's screen

You can record what's on your screen and save it as a video. You can record audio, or share an app or your entire screen, as displayed on your device.

How to record your screen

1. Swipe down from the top of your screen.
2. Tap Screen record .
3. If it's not there, swipe right or tap Edit .
4. Touch and hold, then drag Screen record to your Quick Settings.
5. To start a recording, tap Start.
   • The recording begins after the countdown.
   • Before you start, you can choose whether to record audio, a single app or your entire screen.
6. To stop recording, swipe down from the top of the screen and tap the Screen recorder notification.

Tips:

• ​When you host and record a meeting, you can share your entire screen or a single app. Learn more about how to share your screen.
• Video files can be too large to share over some services. You can share a link through the Photos app instead. Learn how to find screen recordings in your Photos app.

Record and share a single app

1. Start a screen recording. Learn more about how to share your screen.
2. When prompted, tap A single app Start recording.
3. From the app selector, tap an app to share.
4. To stop the recording, tap Stop.

Record your screen and selfie camera at the same time

You can record a selfie video while also recording the screen to capture your reactions.

Important: This feature doesn't support front camera zoom.

1. At the top of your screen, swipe down to show Quick Settings.
2. Tap Screen record .
3. In the Screen record menu, turn on Record device audio, Record microphone and Show selfie camera.
4. To start a recording, tap Start .
   • When you start recording, the Screen record menu disappears from the screen. To bring it back, tap the recording indicator in the status bar.
   • To turn selfie off while you record:
     1. At the top of your screen, tap the recording indicator in the status bar Settings .
     2. Turn off Show selfie camera.
5. To stop the recording, tap Stop.
   • To edit the recording, tap Edit .
   • To delete the recording, tap Delete .
   • To share your recording, tap Share .

Tips:

• To resize or reposition, pinch or drag your selfie.
• To change background colours, tap .
• To change your background shape:
  1. Select a colour.
  2. Tap your selfie.

Find screen recordings

1. Open the Photos app .
2. At the bottom, tap Collections On this device Movies.
