Fix for 1 minute 50 second audio cut outs

Hey everyone,

Thanks to all those who reported that they were experiencing audio cutouts every 1 minute 50 seconds of audio playback. The team has investigated the bug and identified a fix, which is now rolling out in firmware update v552.

Thanks!
Chelsea

For some reason when I go into the Firmware update, it says 550 is still the latest version...
Is the new update actually in?

Oh the fix reached me....still no fix. I've tried factory restart twice. Have a ticket opened with Google to send these worthless things back.

552 definitely fixed most of my issues. The only one left (and it may not be fixable), is that, when my phone is in my back right pocket of my jeans, the buds have a hard time keeping a decent connection with my phone. I have to move my phone to my left shirt pocket and it's fine - just uncomfortable. This could be because I have a good bit of titanium wire in my chest as a result of open heart surgery 3 years ago. I do know that other buds and head sets have not had this issue but you never know.

Anyway, I love my Google Buds and recommend them to my friends.

Even with the update mine cut out constantly.... Can't move at all while using them because they cut back and forth.... Doesn't matter what I'm listening too, on WiFi, off WiFi.... Nothing matters... Horribly cut out

My buds stuck in 296 firmware, i tried to factory reset many times with many phones but it can't update!
Anyone can show me how or trick? Thank
Another question, i live in hanoi, vietnam. I bought my buds in japan, does google support to update 552 firmware in my country?

Hi Nguyễn Tuấn Vũ,

I don't think there should be any regional restrictions on receiving the firmware update. We have seen a few users report a similar symptom of being stuck on an older release even after factory resetting. Those users contacted support and were advised that their Buds would need to be replaced under warranty.

So I'd definitely recommend seeing if you can get in touch with support, though I believe Google does limit support to countries where a particular product is officially sold.

Good luck,
John

Speaking out of my own experience, I know for a fact that Google geo-blocks Pixel support even within the EU; if you"be bought a Pixel product in Germany and try to access Pixel support in Scandinavia, then the help page simply won't load (since Goofy refuses to sell products from the Pixel range in Scandinavia). However, VPN services will fortunately let you circumvent Google's unfortunate way if building customer relations.

I am on firmware 552 and my audio continues to clip, disconnect, etc.

I did a factory reset and brought them back to 552.

Worthless help.

My Firmware shoes 296...how do i get the 552?

Ran,

You can find out about how to receive firmware updates here:
Get firmware updates - Google Pixel Buds Help

If that still doesn't work, you might see if factory resetting the Buds will get the update to install:

There have been a few users who still weren't able to get the updates even after doing that. If you find yourself in that situation then you should reach out to support for further assistance:

Cheers,
John

Looks like it sorted itself by re-booting, Thanks!
