Is anyone else getting audio issues at very specific intervals? Just received my Pixel Buds 2 today and it immediately has audio cut-offs in 1:50 minutes intervals given then details below:

- connected to Google Pixel 3 XL
- left ear: 77%, right ear: 93%, case: 94%
- playing Spotify podcast/music
test 1: play Spotify continuously for more than 2 minutes, audio cuts of at after 1:50 minutes intervals every time
test 2: play Spotify for < 1:50 minutes, pause Spotify (tried with short and long pauses), play audio again, cut off happens at 1:50 minutes intervals after I started playing again

I have tried all the troubleshooting methods and none of them have helped me. Hope my tests are helpful in debugging!

Hi Jorge,

I've just in the past day or two come across a few others mentioning audio problems occurring at this oddly-specific 1:50 interval. I know Google is working on a big update for next month which should address some of the connectivity/audio issues which have been reported so far, but I don't know for sure if it'll cover this particular incarnation of the problem.

Just to confirm, have you tried factory resetting the Buds to see if that helps at all?

I'd encourage you to send feedback to the developers when the problem occurs so that they can investigate. This will provide them with diagnostic data which can be a big help.

You may also want to reach out to support to see if they have any ideas, but it might be a better idea to get in touch with the retailer who sold you the Buds if you'd like to pursue an exchange or refund.

Cheers,
John

Just received brand new Pixel Buds 2, with the latest firmware (so there's nothing really to factory reset to).

Mine are cutting out at the 1:50 interval also. This is easy to reproduce following the steps involving spotify. As both buds are discharging reasonably equally, it could possibly be caused by the buds swapping which one is master.

Pretty disappointing, as I was looking forward to these. Is waiting for an update really the only remedy right now?

I have submitted feedback within the app twice now.

For what it's worth, this issue does *not* appear to happen if you are listening with a single bud only. It only seems to happen when both buds are in use, which further supports the theory that it is related to the primary connection swapping between buds to even out the battery.

Just received the new buds today as well. Exact same issue, 1:50 to the second. Frustrating. Do I gamble and hope this is fixed in update, or just simply return them?

I had the same issue. Having done everything, I decided to return them, as the return window is very small and after it, it is complicated to return them even if they are unusuable. Furthermore, I have been told that the next firmware update that will be in the end of August. As such, I would return them and buy them again if by that date they fix it. You can gamble if you want, but there is no certainty that they will adress this topic in that firmware update. And gambling such an amount of money when you can wait a little more and be sure that you are buying a perfect product, I think it is not worth it.

exact same issue. Every 1.50 minutes the audio is dropping off.
I will return the buds too.
Incredible

Exact same. I use headphones for Audible, it's cutting at the 1:50 mark on the dot. Annoying. As I don't listen to music, this sorta breaks the deal. Swapping my new 200 dollar headphones for my 20 dollar Amazon specials so I can listen to my book is heartbreaking. Do I gamble or return?

So my pixel buds never used to do this until this past week and the only thing that I could think of that I changed was turning on the pause quick gesture that allows you to pause or play with the hand motion. I turned this feature back off and now the pausing every 1.5 minutes is not happening anymore. I am not sure if this was the fix or if it was purely a coincidence but I just wanted to share just in case! I hope Google will fix this soon and good luck to everyone having this issue!
