My Pixel buds case has no LEDs turning on, even though it's plugged in 1 Recommended Answer 7 Replies 2 Upvotes

My pixel buds (first gen) won't charge at all. I see no LEDs turning on, regardless of whether the buds are in the case or not. I've tried a 60-second reset but have no idea whether it did anything. Dead?

Yes. Two different usb-c chargers and cables. Good idea though.

Thanks for confirming! I'm afraid I don't have any other brilliant ideas though - you'll probably want to reach out to Pixel Buds support directly:

Hey Douglas, I'm facing the same issue. First thing that started failing me were the charging case pins. It wouldn't connect properly with the buds to charge ( have to use a band to strap it down so the charging points meet) Now, even though the LED is blinking, my buds don't increase in battery %. Stagnant 😭

User 9894222227200540833,

We've been told in the past that the Buds will not charge correctly while the case is open. If your strap is preventing the case from fully closing then that might be at least part of the issue.

From your photo it looks like the cord might be pretty taut between the connection to the Buds and where it wraps around the corner of the case, and this could cause the Buds to move slightly and lose their connection with the charging pins. I've encountered charging issues with that configuration as well. You might want to try pushing the cord toward the inside of the case before wrapping it around to ensure that there's a bit of slack. I've not had any charging problems since I started making a conscious effort to avoid any tension on that cord.

Good luck,
John

Hey John, I'm only doing so because each time I wrap the cords properly and close the case, and a slight bump will re-connect it back to my phone. Imagine answering a call and you can't hear the caller, then realize it's connected to your buds which are in the casing. With the band I use, it helps put more pressure so the charging pins connect with the buds, but now even with a pulsing green light, the % doesn't go up. It might just be faulty due to wear and tear  =( just purchased the wired buds for now, until the new buds release this year

Hi,
Thanks for all these informations but I feel I m going same direction. Buds case is fully charge but buds always nearly 0%. They work only 5 to 10 sec max .

An idea ?

Thanks
Laurent
