Your Google Pixel Buds Pro will last up to 11 hours before needing a charge and up to 31 hours total listening time with the wireless charging case. With Active Noise Cancellation on, you can get up to 7 hours of listening time, and up to 20 hours of total listening time with the charging case.¹

Your Google Pixel Buds and Google Pixel Buds A-Series will last up to 5 hours of listening time and up to 2.5 hours of talk time before you have to place them in the Google Pixel Buds charging case to recharge. When the charging case is fully charged, it stores multiple charges for your earbuds so you can have up to 24 hours of listening time and up to 12 hours of talk time.²

How to charge your Pixel Buds

The Pixel Buds charging case contains a battery and your earbuds can charge inside without the charging case itself being attached to a power source at that moment.

1. Match the L and R indicators of the earbuds to the charging case magnetized pods and insert the earbuds.
2. Rotate your earbuds until the magnet secures them in place. The status light should blink quickly off and on for each earbud.

For Google Pixel Buds: An orange light at the top between the earbuds will appear while the lid is open, indicating that one or both your earbuds are charging. Pixel Buds can charge with the charging case lid open or closed.

For Google Pixel Buds Pro and Google Pixel Buds A-Series: An orange light on the front of your open case will appear. Pixel Buds can charge with the charging case lid open or closed.

How to charge your Pixel Buds charging case

To charge your Pixel Buds charging case, plug the charging case into a power source using the included USB-A to USB-C® cable. The USB port is located on the bottom of the charging case.

For Google Pixel Buds: The case also has a wireless charging back and is Qi Certified. An orange light will appear at the bottom of the case near the USB port, indicating that your Pixel Buds case is charging. The case can charge with the lid open or closed.

For Google Pixel Buds Pro and Google Pixel Buds A-Series: An orange light on the front of your closed case will appear indicating that your Pixel Buds case is charging. The case can charge with the charging case lid open or closed.

Wireless charging

You can wirelessly charge your Pixel Buds (2nd Gen) and Pixel Buds Pro charging case using a Qi-certified charger (sold separately by other retailers).

Qi-certified chargers have passed the safety standards tests for wireless charging set by Wireless Power Consortium (WPC). Examples of a Qi-certified charger: Pixel Stand, Belkin, and Mophie charging mats.

To know if your wireless charger is Qi Certified, look for the Qi logo. You can also refer to the user manual that came with your charger.

Important: 

• Only Pixel Buds (2nd Gen) and Pixel Buds Pro charging cases can be charged wirelessly.
• Use only a Qi-certified wireless charger.
• Failure to use compatible charging accessories can cause fire, electric shock, injury, or damage to the device and the accessories.

Check your battery power (Android only)

You can check the battery levels of your Pixel Buds and charging case in different ways:

Google Pixel Buds app

1. Ensure Bluetooth® is turned on and your Pixel Buds are connected to your device.
   • Pixel: Go to your Bluetooth menu and tap the Settings icon by your Pixel Buds name
   • Other Android devices: Look for the Google Pixel Buds app in your app drawer
2. Your Pixel Buds battery levels for each earbud will be displayed on the main screen.

Notification

1. Open your charging case with both buds inside next to a paired Android 6.0+ phone. Fast Pair and Location Reporting must be turned on.
2. Your phone will display a notification with the battery levels of your Pixel Buds.

What do the lights on your Pixel Buds charging case mean?

Google Pixel Buds Pro

The Pixel Buds Pro LED light will indicate the status of the earbuds or case depending on if it’s opened or closed:

• Opened case: Shows the battery status for your earbuds
• Closed case: Shows the battery status for your charging case

Pixel Buds Pro charging case status lights

Earbuds status light (opened case): To quickly check the battery level of your Pixel Buds when they’re in the charging case, open the case lid. If they are fully charged, the status light will be solid white. If either earbud is charging, that status light will be solid orange.

	Solid white	Pixel Buds are fully charged.
	Solid orange	One or both earbuds are charging.
	Bouncing white	Pixel Buds is in pairing mode. Pairing mode will begin automatically if you press and hold the pairing button for 3s during the setup process with a new device.
	Switching white/orange	Pixel Buds are trying to pair but one of them is not properly seated in the charging case. Try closing the lid and re-opening to re-align the buds.
	Blinking orange	Pixel Buds still have charge left but the charging case has less than 20%.

Case status light (closed case): The light on the front of a closed charging case will indicate battery levels of the Pixel Buds Pro charging case itself when plugged in or when the lid is recently closed. If no light appears when you do these actions, there is not enough battery to charge the earbuds.

	Solid white	Pixel Buds charging case battery is full, or able to charge earbuds for at least one full charge.
	Blinking orange	Pixel Buds charging case battery is less than 20% (less than one full charge left for the earbuds).
	Solid orange	Pixel Buds charging case battery is charging.

Google Pixel Buds A-Series

The Pixel Buds A-Series LED light will indicate status of the earbuds or case depending on if it’s opened or closed:

• Opened case: Shows the battery status for your earbuds
• Closed case: Shows the battery status for your charging case

Case status light (closed case): The light on the front of a closed charging case will indicate battery levels of the Pixel Buds A-Series charging case itself when plugged in, when the lid is recently closed, or after pressing the button on the back of the case when the case is closed. If no light appears when you do these actions, there is not enough battery to charge the earbuds.

	Solid white	Pixel Buds charging case battery is full, or able to charge earbuds for at least one full charge.
	Blinking orange	Pixel Buds charging case battery is less than 20% (less than one full charge left for the earbuds).
	Solid orange	Pixel Buds charging case battery is charging.

The Pixel Buds charging case has two lights, one inside the case between the earbuds and one on the front of the case near the USB port:

• Inside light: Shows pairing and battery status for your earbuds
• Outside light: Shows battery status for your charging case

Earbuds status light (inside light): To quickly check the battery level of your Pixel Buds when they’re in the charging case, open the case lid. If they are fully charged, the earbuds status light inside the case will be solid white. If either earbud is charging, that status light will be solid orange.

	Solid white	Pixel Buds are fully charged.
	Solid orange	One or both earbuds are charging.
	Bouncing white	Pixel Buds is in pairing mode. Pairing mode will begin automatically if you press and hold the pairing button for 3s during the setup process.
	Switching white/orange	Pixel Buds are trying to pair but one of them is not properly seated in the charging case. Try closing the lid and re-opening to re-align the buds.
	Blinking orange	Pixel Buds still have charge left but the charging case does not.

Case status light (outside light): The light located outside the case near the USB port will indicate battery levels of the Pixel Buds charging case itself when plugged in or when the lid is open. If there is no light, there is not enough battery to charge the earbuds.

	Solid white	Pixel Buds charging case battery is full, or able to charge earbuds for at least one full charge.
	Blinking orange	Pixel Buds charging case battery is less than 20% (less than one full charge left for the earbuds).
	Solid orange	Pixel Buds charging case battery is charging.

Troubleshooting charging problems

Troubleshoot your Pixel Buds charging case or earbuds if they won't charge.

Step 1: Ensure your Pixel Buds are clean and your charging case has power, and your charging cord is available

1. Clean the charging contacts on the earbuds and within the case. Learn how to clean your Pixel Buds.
2. Fully charge your charging case using the included USB-A to USB-C^® cable. The case status light should indicate if it is charging. Learn how to charge the charging case.
3. Your charging cord (the included USB-A to USB-C cable) is available and is free of damage and obstructions.

   For wireless charging: Try realigning the case on the charging surface.

Step 2: Re-seat your Pixel Buds

1. To ensure good contact with the case, make sure the eartips are securely fastened to your earbuds.
2. Place the Pixel Buds in the charging case.
3. The earbuds status light should blink on when each earbud is placed into the case. If the status light doesn't come on, try gently adjusting the earbud until the light comes on. You can also try closing and opening the lid. This helps to adjust your buds into the exact right sitting orientation

Step 3: Charge your Pixel Buds for 30 mins

1. While your earbuds are in the charging case, plug the charging case into a power source using the included USB-A to USB-C® cable.
2. Allow your Pixel Buds to charge for 30 minutes before attempting to re-pair. Learn how to pair your Pixel Buds.

Step 4: If your Pixel Buds still do not charge, reset the Pixel Buds and charging case

If they have not successfully retained a charge, Reset your Google Pixel Buds.

How to charge your Google Pixel Buds

Match the L & R indicators of the Pixel Buds to the charging case magnetized pockets.

Once they're in, press down to make sure the charging pins are firmly in place. After placing your earbuds in their pockets, secure the cord by wrapping it around the rim of the charging case so you can carry Pixel Buds while they are charging.

A green LED light will appear, indicating that your Pixel Buds are charging.

The charging case must be closed in order for your Pixel Buds to charge properly.

How to charge your Google Pixel Buds case

Plug your charging case into a power source using the included USB-C™ to USB-A cable.

The Pixel Buds charging case takes 1.5 hours to charge from 0% to 100% battery life.

When should I charge my Pixel Buds?

The Google Pixel Buds provide up to five hours of listening time with a single charge. When you're getting close to five hours of usage, place your Pixel Buds into your charging case to recharge. When the charging case is fully charged, it stores multiple charges for your Pixel Buds so you can have up to 24 hours of listening time.

To help remind you of when you should charge your Google Pixel Buds, the buds will alert you with a low battery chime at 25%, 10%, 5%, and just before they completely run out of power.

Google Pixel Buds battery performance statistics are approximate and are based on listening time, audio control, and other factors. Actual results may vary. Case must be sufficiently charged. 1. Press and hold the center button on your phone to invoke your Google Assistant
   
2. Tap on Headphones Settings
   
3. Your device settings will also display the Pixel Buds battery level

Pixel Buds in the charging case

1. To quickly check the battery level of your Pixel Buds when they're in the charging case, press the case button or open the lid of the charging case.
   
2. If you have green LED, that means your Pixel Buds are good to go. If you have an amber LED, that means the battery in your Pixel Buds is critically low.

How to check the battery level of your charging case

1. If your charging case is empty, the white LED lights show the battery level of the case itself.
2. If your Pixel Buds are in the charging case, you can press the case button to toggle between your Pixel Buds' battery and the battery in the charging case.

	Three solid white LEDs	The case battery is at 75% or higher
	Two solid white LEDs	The case battery is between 50-75%
	One solid white LED	The case battery is between 25-50%
	One solid amber LED	The case battery is critically low
