Diagnostics
We are constantly looking to improve the experience that you have with Pixel Buds. The Google Pixel Buds app reports information about how you use the app and headphones. This data evaluates reliability, usability and feature use.
Pixel Buds periodically perform brief, local acoustic self-checks. This calibrates audio quality and detects hardware issues regardless of your usage and diagnostics settings.
Specifically, the Google Pixel Buds app collects and reports anonymised data about how you use the headphones, including:
- Information about gestures that you may use (increasing volume, decreasing volume, answering calls, ending calls)
- Bluetooth® connection and disconnection events
- Crash events.
- Additional diagnostic and usage data
To disable sending this diagnostic data, you can untick the 'Send diagnostics' tick box when you first set up the device or turn it off in your Google Pixel Buds settings.
-
Based on your device, you can change the settings for your earbuds in different ways:
- On a Pixel phone with Android 10+: Go to Settings
Connected devices
