Change your Pixel Buds settings through the web companion app

Manage your Pixel Buds and get the latest firmware on your computer through the Pixel Buds web companion app. You can also manage and adjust features such as:

  • Active Noise Cancellation
  • Sound settings
  • Conversation Detection
  • Touch controls

Troubleshooting

Switch to another Pixel Buds

The web companion app can only connect to one device at a time. To switch to another device:

  1. Click Remove to unpair the current device from the web companion app.
  2. Make sure your new device is paired and connected to your computer.
  3. Choose the new Pixel Buds you want to connect.
Firmware update is stuck

On Windows, when the firmware update is stuck at 0% or 50%:

  1. Return to the homepage.
  2. Click Remove to disconnect the buds from the web companion app.
  3. On the Windows taskbar, right-click on the Start menu.
  4. Click Settings and then Bluetooth & devices and then your Pixel Buds.
  5. Click Remove device and then Yes to confirm.
  6. Pair your Pixel Buds with your computer again. Learn how to pair your Pixel Buds.
  7. Once they are paired and connected, go back to the web companion app.
  8. Choose your Buds and try the firmware update again.
Nothing happens after clicking "Select your Buds"

Ensure permissions are enabled by your browser for:

  • Serial Port
    1. Go to Settings and then Privacy & Security and then Site Settings and then Additional Permissions and then Serial Ports.

      • Or you can type:

        chrome://settings/content/serialPorts.

    2. Switch on Sites can ask to connect to serial ports.
  • Pixel Buds
    1. Go to Settings and then Privacy & Security and then Site Settings and then View permissions and data stored across sites and then mypixelbuds.google.com.
      • Or you can type:

        chrome://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https://mypixelbuds.google.com.

    2. Switch Serial Port to Ask.
After you click "Select your Buds," device doesn't appear in the Device Picker Dialog

Only Pixel Buds Pro and Pixel Buds Pro 2 will appear in the dialog.

  • Mac: Grant Bluetooth permission to Chrome. Click the System Settings icon in the dock and then Privacy & Security and then Bluetooth. Make sure your browser is enabled.
  • ChromeOS: Forget and re-pair your Pixel Buds in the system Bluetooth settings.

To submit feedback in the app, click Feedback in the header. Please include details about the issue, make and model of your computer, and the model of the Pixel Buds.
