What is Network for Good? Why is my donation directed there?

Google partners with Network for Good, Inc. (NFG), a U.S. 501(c)(3) and donor advised fund, to collect and distribute the funds to charities according to Google’s recommendations. In accordance with U.S. tax law, NFG has exclusive legal control over donations once received. By making a donation, your name, address, and donation amount is shared with NFG in accordance with their Privacy Policy

Is my donation tax deductible?
Donors in the United States

If you are a resident of the U.S., donations to 501(c)(3) organizations are generally tax deductible, but please check with a tax professional to be sure. You will receive a confirmation email from Google, which serves as your donation receipt and confirms that no goods or services were received.

Donors in Canada

 

If you are a resident of Canada, your donation may not be tax deductible. You should check your local tax regulations and review with a local tax professional to be sure.

Donors in other countries

Your donation is not tax deductible if you are a resident of one of the following countries:

Will I be charged any fees or other levies?

Your entire contribution will go to the nonprofits, but if you reside outside the U.S., your bank or credit card issuer may charge you currency conversion / foreign currency transaction fees and taxes depending on the currency you donate in and your location -- please consult with your bank or credit card issuer for more information. You are also responsible for complying with any local foreign currency remittance and tax reporting obligations that may be applicable to you. 

Are there any legal limitations on my donation?

If you reside outside the U.S., there may be a legal limit on the aggregate amount you may donate, the frequency of donations, or the donation recipient. Please check your country’s laws before donating.

Is my donation refundable?

No, donations are non-refundable.

How do I delete my donation history?

You can delete your donation history here. Deleting your donation history will not affect your Google account or your Google Payments account. For donations made on Google Play, deleting your donations account will not delete those transactions from your Google Play order history.

If you made a donation using Guest Checkout, no information will be stored in your donation history. Likewise, if you have a Google Payments account, and you made a donation using Guest Checkout, your donation will not appear in your Google Payments transaction history. 

If I don’t have a Google Account, can I still donate?

Yes, you can use your credit card to make a donation using Google’s Guest Checkout.

If you choose to make your donation using Guest Checkout, you do not need to have a Google account or be logged into your Google account (if you have one). The confirmation email from Google, which serves as your donation receipt, will be sent to the email address you provide when you make a donation using Guest Checkout.

How does Google use my information?

Google collects your name, email, and donation amount for the purpose of facilitating donations, and such information is used in accordance with Google’s Privacy Policy. You can delete your donation information at: https://donate.google.com/home/deleteAccount.

For users in the United States, if you opt-to share your personal information for an individual donation with the end-recipient nonprofit, that information is used in accordance with the nonprofit’s privacy practices. In order to delete your information, please contact the nonprofit.
