Help people find you

When you get started with the new Google Pay app, you get an option to let people use search to find you. This makes it easier for people with your phone number or email to find your name and photo across Google services. It also lets them use Google Pay to send you money. If this setting is off, you need to perform additional steps to receive money.

Turn on Help friends find and pay you

  1. Open the new Google Pay app .
  2. On the Pay screen , at the top right, tap your profile picture or Account .
  3. Tap Settings and then Privacy and Security and then How people find you on Google Pay.
  4. Turn on Help friends find and pay you.

Tip: In the new Google Pay app, if you sent or received money with a friend or started a chat with them, they'll be able to find you on the app with your phone number even if this setting is off.
