I can’t find a person

The new Google Pay app lets you search for other people who also have the new app. You can search for someone in your contacts with their name, phone number, or email.

If you can't find someone, it could be because they:

  • Don't have the new Google Pay app .
  • Don't have a United States (US) or India (IN) phone number.
  • Might not have Help friends find and pay you turned on. If this setting is turned off, you can only find them if you're already connected in the app. Learn how to turn on Help friends find and pay you.

Tip: In the new Google Pay app, if you sent or received money with a friend or started a chat with them, they can find you on the app with your phone number even if this setting is off.
