Eligible Google AI Pro paid members have access to YouTube Premium Lite individual plan. YouTube Premium Lite is a new YouTube Premium membership. It offers fewer interruptions so you can watch most YouTube and YouTube Kids videos ad-free, offline, and in the background.

The YouTube Premium Lite benefit is automatically activated if you’re eligible. It’s available to:
- Google AI Pro members: Individual plan members on monthly plans, annual plans, or third-party subscribers. This includes Google One 5 TB and 10 TB plans.
- Third-party subscribers: Paid Google AI Pro members on qualifying partner plans. This excludes Google AI Pro members in a trial period.
- Family group plan managers: Only plan managers are eligible for the YouTube Premium Lite benefit.

As a lower-priced alternative to the standard YouTube Premium plan, the YouTube Premium Lite individual plan reduces interruptions and allows you to watch YouTube videos with fewer ads, offline, and in the background. However, it doesn’t include full YouTube Premium benefits.
What to expect with YouTube Premium Lite
- Ads may still appear on music content, YouTube Shorts, within search results, and while you browse.
- YouTube Premium Lite doesn’t include YouTube Music Premium. This means you won’t be able to play songs ad-free, offline, and in the background on the YouTube Music app.
- Downloads and background play aren’t available for YouTube Shorts or on music content. This includes official or premium music videos, Art Tracks, children’s songs, or user-generated content that includes content from our music partners such as covers, dance videos, or a vlog with a popular song in the background.
- Additional features such as continue watching, Jump Ahead, queuing or high-quality audio and video are also not available.
To watch all content ad-free, offline, and in the background and use YouTube Music Premium without interruption, you can purchase a separate YouTube Premium subscription. In select countries, you can also purchase YouTube Premium add-on with select Google One plans, which includes a discount over a standalone YouTube Premium subscription.
Understand restrictions & limitations
Stacking limitationsThe YouTube Premium Lite bundle can’t be combined with existing Google One promotions or other trials. If you’re currently on trial, the YouTube Premium Lite benefit will be added automatically after the trial finishes and converts to a paid subscription. If you have discounted Google AI Pro plan, you would still get YouTube Premium Lite.
The YouTube Premium Lite benefit is non-shareable. Only the plan manager can watch videos without ads. Family group members can still encounter ads.
If you have a Google AI Pro paid membership managed by a third-party, you automatically receive the YouTube Premium Lite benefit. However, you can’t upgrade to full YouTube Premium through Google One or partner billing. If you want to have a YouTube Premium membership, you must purchase a separate YouTube Premium subscription through Google or their third-party provider (if applicable).
Troubleshoot common subscription issues
When you’re already a Google AI Pro member & have a standalone YouTube Premium or YouTube Premium Lite subscriptionThe YouTube Premium Lite individual plan included in this Google AI Pro bundle won’t activate if you already have a standalone YouTube Premium Lite or YouTube Premium subscription. Standalone YouTube Premium Lite or YouTube Premium subscriptions aren’t automatically canceled. You can manage your current YouTube subscriptions at any time.
If you’re a Google AI Pro member who’s:
- Not already subscribed to YouTube Premium or YouTube Premium Lite: Your YouTube Premium Lite plan features start automatically.
- Already subscribed to YouTube Premium or YouTube Premium Lite:
- Your YouTube Premium subscription remains active.
- If you choose to cancel your standalone YouTube Premium or YouTube Premium Lite subscription, the YouTube Premium Lite plan, included with Google AI Pro, automatically activates and you can start to use its benefits on YouTube.
Tip: You might already have a paid YouTube Premium or YouTube Premium Lite subscription if you have a paid:
- YouTube Premium add-on through Google One
- Subscription through YouTube
- Subscription with a third-party partner such as Verizon
If your subscription payment fails, YouTube Premium Lite provides a three-day grace period before your benefits are suspended.
