Manage your Google News notifications

You can turn all Google News notifications on or off. You can pick how many notifications you get.

You can also control specific notification types. This includes breaking news and your daily briefing email.

Important: You can manage your notifications only in your Google News app. You can’t manage them on the web.

See notifications in your app

  1. Open your Google News app Google News app.
  2. At the top right, tap your photo.
  3. Tap Activity Activity.

Change your notifications

Step 1: Open your settings

  1. Open your Google News app Google News app.
  2. At the top right, tap your photo.
  3. Tap Settings Settings.
  4. Under “General,” tap Notifications.

Step 2: Choose how many notifications you get

  • Turn Get notifications on or off.
  • Under “Number of notifications,” tap between Low and High.

Step 3: Control specific notifications 

Turn notification types on or off. For example:

  • Breaking news
  • Headlines
  • Featured content
  • Daily briefing
  • Your interests
  • Sharing
  • Promotions and offers
  • New magazines

Control your daily briefing emails & notifications

To get your daily briefing emails, under “Settings,” turn on Daily briefing emails. To choose not to get them, turn it off.

To get notifications when your daily briefing is ready, in “Settings” and then “Notifications,” turn on Daily briefing. To choose not to get them, turn it off.
