Save & download stories from Google News

You can save stories on Google News to read later. You can also download issues of subscribed magazines.

Note: This feature is only available if you're signed in to your Google Account.

Save stories to read later

  1. Open your Google News app Google News app.
  2. Under a story you want to save, click Save Save.

Read stories you’ve saved

  1. At the bottom, tap Favorites Favorites.
  2. Scroll down to “Saved stories.”
  3. Tap the story you want to read.

Remove stories you’ve saved

  1. At the bottom, tap Favorites Favorites.
  2. Scroll down to “Saved stories.”
  3. Under the story you want to remove, tap More More and then Don’t save Saved.

Download stories and issues to read when you’re offline

  1. Open your Google News app Google News app.
  2. At the top right, tap your photo.
  3. Tap Settings Settings.
  4. Under “Downloading,” turn on the kinds of downloading you want:
    • Download via Wi-Fi only
    • Download while charging only
    • Auto-download magazines
    • Options for auto-downloaded issues
      • Download print and lite or Download lite only
      • Store all issues or Store only latest issue

Remove downloads

To remove your downloads from your Android device’s storage, tap Clear all downloads. Your stories and issues will still be available in Google News.
