Cancel or change a subscription on Google Play

Subscriptions on Google Play renew automatically unless you unsubscribe.

Make sure to sign in to the Google Account that has your subscriptions.

Cancel a subscription

  1. Open a web browser (such as Safari or Chrome) on your device.
  2. Go to play.google.com
  3. On the left menu, click My subscriptions.
  4. Find the subscription that you want to cancel and click Manage
  5. Click Cancel Subscription

Important: Uninstalling an app will not automatically stop your subscription. You must cancel your subscription to end your subscription. If you uninstall the app without cancelling your subscription, you will still be charged. If an app for which you've purchased a subscription is removed from Google Play, your future subscription will be automatically cancelled, but past subscriptions will not be refunded.

Access after you cancel

When you cancel a subscription, you will still have access to your subscription for the remainder of time for which you have already paid.

For example, if you purchased a one-year subscription on 1 Jan for $10 and decide to cancel your subscription on 1 July, you will have access to the subscription until 31 Dec. But you will not be charged another yearly subscription of $10 the following 1 Jan.

Restart or restore a subscription

If your subscription is cancelled but still active:

  1. Open a web browser (such as Safari or Chrome) on your device.
  2. Go to play.google.com
  3. On the left menu, click My subscriptions.
  4. Find the subscription that you want to restore.
  5. Click Restore

The option to restore may not be available for all apps.

If your subscription is cancelled and has expired:

If you cancelled your subscription and the remaining time on your subscription has expired, set up your subscription again.
