I am having the exact same issue! We’ve had our Google Home mini’s since December 2017 and have never had a problem with them not shutting off before! All of a sudden this past weekend, they won’t shut off. We keep getting a message saying, sorry power controls not yet supported. So frustrating!

@Tressie Holden,
Please use the "Hey Google, stop" or "Hey Google, quit" commands for stopping music or radio streaming and use the "Off" command when controlling lights, TV's or other devices that can actually be switched off.

I've always said okay Google off a d it would stop my music or what ever. But as one of the other users said off for lights and stop for music makes sense. I personally don't have it set up to control the lights but if I did it makes more sense to use off for lights stop for the music or news. Because as the other users mentioned it's never really off. My google home only turned off when I unplugged it. Although the unannounced change is irritating... No one likes change especially when we already have a routine. Cheer up though sometimes change is good. If you check your app you can now control the volume of your Google home through your app and their are many new options through the app for your Google. Home adjusting the bass and all sorts of other things. Enjoy the change it's not always bad. Just takes some getting used to
