Just installed a nest wifi with 3 points. The three points are working fine, On the main router, in google home I see "Finish Setup", however, when I click Finish Setup I see Checking for updates, and then Restarting, and then the screen just keeps flipping between "Restarting...about 0 minutes remaining" and "Almost Done", etc", however, even if I leave my phone for 10 minutes nothing happens. Wifi in the house seems to be working, but I can't use google assistant / broadcasting/ etc. from the modem

I get that as well. If I close the Google Home iOS app while it is continuously saying the "about 0 minutes remaining" the network is working, and I can connect with any of my points, but the app always says "finish setup" under my router device within the app.

I am encountering the same issue: everything works, but in the app’s home page, the main router says “finish setup.” When I try to do so it just “hangs,” as described above. I would also add that when I try to see who is on our home network, it hangs then, too: it won’t retrieve the information (though I know that there is one person in my home system and everything is working right). There is much spinning of circles. Maybe it’s the app? I deleted and reinstalled but ran into the same issue.

Hi Everyone, I spent 2+ hours on chat with a support specialist, and figured out that one of the WiFi points wasn’t properly working. We then went through a hard reset of the WiFi point, and came up with a whole new error. So I just returned everything to Costco, and have a new package coming today. After having invested 3+ hours, I wish I had just returned the device from the start. Good luck!

I have the same issue as described in this thread for my Google Nest Wifi point. I bought the wifi and the nest point 6 months ago and it start failing last week. I tried to re-install the wifi, the access point, reset both of the to factory settings and the nest point still not working. The wifi is working ok.

The configuration steps works up to the finalize screen and I receive an error message telling that the operation timed out.

This is a bad situation because I dont think Ill be able to exchange it at my bestbuy.

Could you please help me to get some support and probably replacement ?

thanks

I have the same problem as all the people here: I just recently purchased the nest system, and although I have followed the instructions to unplug all elements and them modem to reset everything, the main router perpetually says "finish setup" (very irritating to have received the message that my "patience would be rewarded" hundreds of times). Also the mesh test for one of the two points fails every time. I have spent countless hours on this. The store from which I purchased the Nest system actually directed me to contact Verizon-- I spent more than 3 hours on hold and the technician's advice was basically just to get rid of the nest system. I'd appreciate any help you have to offer. The whole reason I purchased this system was to ensure a strong connection to teach on Zoom starting next week.

Hey K-Sue

Thank you for reaching out and welcome to the Google Nest Wifi Help Community. I'm sorry to know that you're also having some issues setting up your Nest Wifi devices. Have you tried going through the steps listed on the "recommended answers" above? Can you tell me what's the light status showing on your Nest Wifi router? Also you've mentioned that one of the two Nest Wifi points fails every time you do a mesh test. Can you also tell me what's the light status showing on these two other Nest Wifi points?

Let me know to better assist you on this.

Thanks,
Nhest
