Does anyone know what the future is for Google Nest? I am heavily invested in Nest, but I am looking to expand my smart home and I don't know what to do. I want to stick with Nest, but without knowing if anything is going to change... I just can't. So I am coming here to ask if anyone has any answers.
Are there any new products planned? There has not been a real new product or an update in over a year... and I do not mean another re-branded Google product.
Are there plans for plugs?
Are there plans to either create something like the Brilliant switch panel or allow Google Nest to work with it again like it did under WWN?
Is the Nest X Yale lock going to be replaced soon by the modular Yale Assure line? Will it be refreshed as its own thing?
Are there any plans to allow Nest Protect to unlock the Yale X Nest when a fire is detected?
Are there ever going to be separate glass break sensors for the Nest Guard? Or is the base station the only thing that will ever have it? Or worse, will it be implemented through google assistant smart speakers?
Will Nest Guard ever work with the Protect to alert the monitoring company when there is a fire?
Will there ever be a cheaper version of the window sensor that does not do motion detection?
Are there any plans for a physical, wall mounted keypad for the Guard for secondary entry points?
Is Google going to get some 3rd party companies onboard with Weave or is it just going to be google only until it dies?
Is further Alexa integration planned? What about Homekit? Nest seems to be becoming the late 90s Macintosh of Smart Homes... Works With Nothing...
I just want to know if it is time to dump Nest or wait... right now, Google Nest looks like the Google+ of smart homes... so if anyone has any answers, please please please respond.
