My experience since the Google acquisition of Nest...

The web UI constantly logs me out and it can take up to 20s to connect to a camera feed.  This is obviously not ideal if you suddenly need to check your camera in order to react to something.

Streaming the camera feed on a Google Home Hub is not really practical, as there is no way to mute the audio without completely disabling the microphone on the doorbell itself.  The thread for this issue was conveniently locked after the problem was acknowledged and there is still no fix after almost a year.

Motion detection zones were so unreliable (many false positives) that I had to disable the feature entirely.  The existence of this issue is completely denied despite hundreds of reports from customers.

Not only that, but features that used to exist have been removed:  It is no longer possible to deactivate the status LED on the doorbell camera and the device no longer reports the power supply voltage.

So, what has actually improved?  I can see that a lot of effort was put into nag screens to sell the new subscription model.  What else?

Thanks for posting. We're sorry to hear about your feedback. A few questions -- Can you confirm the current if you are using a Mac or a Windows PC? Have you tried using a different browser and using the incognito to check? I'll wait for your response. 

For the Nest Google Home Hub, the mute feature is yet to be supported since all the controls are still with Nest App same goes for removing the LED staus. I'll pass this request along to the right team. You can check back on our Help Center and social channels for updates.

Thanks for responding.

It doesn't matter if I use Firefox or Chrome or private browsing.  The issue is that API calls to webapi.camera.home.nest.com and nexusapi-eu1.camera.home.nest.com take between 1s and 15s each, and there are several not in parallel.  That adds up to a lot of delay!

Also, please note that "status LED" and "LED status" are not the same thing!  I was referring to the apparently forced decision to permanently enable the green activity LED on the camera.
