"Something went wrong" even after factory reset
2
I get the "something went wrong" response with literally every command. Can't set an alarm, can't check the weather, can't get the news, nothing.

Google home mini.
based on the other threads here I have tried factory resetting it twice, all my data/web activity permissions are on, I can find no other thread/answer that involves no commands working at all.

I have this problem with the two minis I own as well, started doing this this morning for no apparent reason.  I have factory reset one of them and made sure all permissions were granted, still same problem.  My Google Home and Google Hub are both working fine.

My Google Home devices started failing today (Wed Jul 29) as well, responding only with "Something went wrong" to every prompt. This goes for both my Google Home Mini (older) and my Nest Mini (newer).

Casting to the devices does not work, either.

Resetting the devices, router, reinstalling the app has no effect. (Not that I would expect those actions to have any effect, but that's the generic answer one gets from Google support each time...)

Hi all,
Same same, since yesterday July 29th, all Google home + minis (5) stopped responding, checked all permissions, web/app activity is enabled, etc..hard reset didnt fix it.

Whats interesting is that if you turn off the 'Web/App activity', they start answering you for simple questions like whats the time, weather etc.. however nothing more than that.

Hoping this will be resolved by Google asap.

Hey Everyone,

Thanks for sharing details regarding this issue. I know how annoying and challenging it can be to not have a working Google Home/Nest device and I apologize for the inconvenience.

The team would love your help to look into this issue further by providing the information needed below:
  • Type of Google Home/Nest device
  • Device firmware version
    • Open the Google Home app .
    • Tap your device  Settings .
    • Scroll to the bottom and look for Cast firmware version: X.XXX.XXXXX.
  • Your location
Also, please send feedback on the Google Home app and use the keywords, "GHT3 Something went wrong". For more instructions on how to send feedback, check this out.

Looking forward to your response.

Cheers!
