I need use my Samsung Android for setting up a smart switch which needs device to use 2.4 Ghz instead of 5 Ghz. How do I force Google Wifi to use only 2.4 Ghz. Not necessarily permanently may be period of time and then default to typical mode.

Yes. Moving faraway works sometimes. But I feel something so simple got complicated. Devices should be allowed to connect to the band of choice.

I agree a "button" totemporarily change to 2.4ghz in order to set up the numerous "smart devices" which only work on 2.4ghz is the best solution and shouldn't be too onerous a task for the Google wifi team to upgrade?  I have been a bit disappointed with my Google wifi's functionality - if provides great coverage but Google needs to listen to feedback and quickly respond - if it wants to lead this market and not fall by the wayside???

Thank you. Unfortunately you have not answered the question, you turned it in it's head by directing it back to the device, it's a feature in the router I'm asking about.

Some routers allow you to push a device to 2.4 or 5GH. I'm asking if nest, not the device can do that.

I understand now that it can't do that, it is a feature offered by  your competition.

Devices only see the wifi points not their speed.

I've I need to connect to an IoT device that only uses 2.4 on an phone with 2.4 and 5 gh capabilities I can't do it on the Google router as the router will place the IoT device on 2.4and the phone on 5GH

I have to get an old phone that can only operate on 2.4 and connect it to the router to linknup the wifi IoT device.

The above iss the fix i read online for this issue for sonoff and lightwave devices.

Thank you for the response
