Scheduling GE C Life bulbs 0 Recommended Answers 7 Replies 52 Upvotes

I recently purchased the Home mini and GE C Life bulb combo and am wondering if there is anyway to set it to turn the light on and off by a schedule.  It looks like the bulbs can do it using the GE app with a hub, but having to buy a hub makes using it with the Google Home pointless.

Thank you

I am having a similar issue and the help page you posted does not contain the answer I need. What I want to do is schedule my light to fade in, rather than just turn on. I see that you can do this through the ge app (https://youtu.be/SZmAB3hbuZo), but I can't figure out how to schedule this through my Google home app.

And since, as far as I can tell, I can't have my bulb paired to both the ge app and the Google app, I either need a solution in the Google app or I have to connect it to the other app and lose Google home control, which was was the point of buying them in a bundle.

Hey Guys,

As it sits right now, there isn't a way to schedule a light to fade in, all you can do is turn it on or off. Depending on the automation platform however (in this case C by GE), it may be possible to trigger a scene.

I don't use C by GE lights so I don't know the ins and outs of that solution, but I can tell you that from using SmartThings or Hue that I can trigger scenes or automations along with my lights.

In terms of pairing, you should have to pair the bulb with one or the other. When you pair the bulb with the C by GE app, simply joining the service to Google should make the bulbs available to Google without affecting the GE app. Again, with SmartThings, I can control my lights from the Google world, but also the SmartThings world too.

Hopefully this makes sense.

Thanks for the reply, Jon.  As of last night, I reset the bulb and paired it with the GE app. Worked like a charm doing a sunrise fade-in this morning.  Next up: trying to join the service to Google Home app.  Thanks!
