Hi Mohamed,

Welcome to the Google Nest Wifi Help Community,

Thanks for reaching out regarding this matter. I'm sorry to know that you're having trouble setting up your Google Nest Wifi device. Let's go ahead and see what's going on. Have you try to wired a PC directly to the modem to verify if there's a stable internet connection coming from it? Are you getting any messages from the app indicating why the setup is not going through? Would you mind going through these few steps and see if this might be helpful for you?

1. Check if your Nest Wifi device is in the 'ready to setup' status and is showing a 'slow pulsing white' light. Otherwise, you may need to Factory reset your Google Nest Wifi device - kindly refer to 'Factory reset your router or point with the factory reset button on your device' section and see the instruction on how to reset a Google Nest Wifi router.

2. Ensure that Ethernet cable is plugged in to the right ports - ( cable should be connected on your modem’s LAN/Ethernet port and the other end should be connected on your Google Nest Wifi's WAN port).

3. Make sure 'Location Services' and 'Bluetooth' are both turned ON on phone/device. Turn OFF mobile/cell data, if possible.

4. Connect your phone/device - to the setup SSID of your Google Nest Wifi router.
  • Go to your phone’s 'Wifi network settings' > on the 'list of WiFi networks', look for a 'setup network SSID' that says “setup****”, it will ask you to put in a password which will be the setup code located on the base of your device. Once connected, open the app and start the setup.
5. If the same issue persist, do a full network restart to re-establish connections.
  • Disconnect the power cable and Ethernet cable from the Google Nest Wifi router.
  • Disconnect the power cable from the modem.
  • Allow the power to stay disconnected from both for 5 minutes.
  • Connect the power back to the modem only and wait for it to fully boot back up.
  • All lights should be lit up before moving to the next step.
  • After the modem is back online, connect the Ethernet cable back to the Google Nest Wifi router's WAN port (globe symbol).
  • Connect the power cable back to Google Nest Wifi router.
  • Allow the network to be fully back on.
6. Once done, kindly refer back to steps 1to 4 and try setting it up again.

Hope this helps.

All the best,
Nhest
