Nest WiFi won't complete setup, keeps "losing connection to the wifi point." 0 Recommended Answers 6 Replies 1 Upvote

Google had me reset my router due to occasionally having drops affecting only random devices, never the whole network. Now 2 reps have tried to help me get it online through troubleshooting but it can't complete the setup. It finds the router, set network name and password and when it gets to "creating network" stage it stops "something went wrong" and says it lost connection to the point. No matter what it always gives the same error. Please any suggestions however wacky! We've tried setup through the google home app on Pixel phone, pixel slate, iphone, iPad, Kindle fire devices, all stop at the same error.

Thank you for posting your concern here! I apologize for responding a little late on this. Let's try to further isolate if where can be the issue might be really coming from. Have you try to wired a PC directly to your modem to see if its giving out a stable internet connection? What's the make & model of the modem you're using on the network? Does your Google Nest Wifi router connected directly to the modem during the setup attempt?

The router sets up a stable connection to the modem (ARRIS 6121) and broadcast the signal. Internet diagnostic they had me run looked good. You can connect to the "setup" wifi and use it, but it always stalled when creating the network. "Lost connection to the point". We tried multiple Ethernet cables, 5 devices for setup, soft and hard resets of the router.

Hi, What was the resolution? Having same issue. Had Google WiFi, which worked perfectly. Added Nest WIFI and now everything has become insanely difficult.
