My google nest wifi router’s light turned yellow blinking fast and isn’t connecting to the internet 0 Recommended Answers 4 Replies 0 Upvotes

My google wifi router stopped working, when I went to see what was happening I saw the light was yellow and blinking. I checked my modem and it was working fine.

I proceeded to unplug everything and followed all the instructions the assistance has. I did a factory reset and could only set back up one of my routers, the other one kept with the yellow blinking light.

When I plug it back on it starts blinking in yellow, then it does 4 red blinks and then it continues to blink in yellow forever. I tried to do a manual reset but nothing happens after holding the button for 10 seconds or 12 seconds or 15 seconds. I don’t know what else to do. Has someone had this problem?

Hi Isabella,

Welcome to the Google Nest Wifi Help Community!

Thanks for taking the time to post your concern here. I apologize for the late response. Are you still having this the same issue? Let's try to go ahead and see what's going on with your Google Nest Wifi device. Just to verify, is this subject device a Nest Wifi router or a Nest Wifi point? Are you able to check if the device is broadcasting the setup SSID located at the bottom of it? Have you tried connecting this Nest Wifi device on a different power outlet? Also, have you tried using a different power adapter to see if it's doing the same problem?

Let me know so that we can further assist you on this.

I have spent hours on the phone with Google WiFi support. They confirmed this is a pervasive issue taking place due to the recent update. There is no current fix to it. They have to send a replacement device, which takes 7-10 days to deliver. I bought my Google Nest Router and Point only 2 months ago and have been experiencing this issue since it updated about 2 weeks ago. For me, this is completely debilitating because I work from home and my connection is dropping constantly, and I cannot afford to wait a whole week or more for the replacement. Google keeps passing me off to different representatives, the supervisors have been completely unhelpful (they suggested me asking a neighbor to join their WiFi network), and stated they have no way to expedite the replacement. As a long-time loyal Google customer, I can say that this experience has changed my perspective of Google completely. I will not be buying any more Google products or services. I urge to contact Google WiFi support about this issue.
