Broadlink Smart Home scenes broken. Assistant now confirms scene activation yet nothing happens. 0 Recommended Answers 15 Replies 26 Upvotes
Google Assistant has lost capability to activate scenes with Broadlink RM mini 3. Working successfully a short while ago, the assistant now confirms the command saying "ok, activating (specific) scene" but nothing is activated.
I have checked the RM mini itself, it is online and functioning, unplugged and restarted, again the hardware is working fine. If using the IHC app, the scenes can be activated, again showing that the device is functioning.
The Google Home app prompted me to assign a room to each scene under home control, and I did. Has no effect, same response from Google home and Google Assistant on smartphone, neither assistant can successfully activate scenes.
Checked activity, Google Assistant is hearing commands clearly.
Set routines under Google Home app to activate scenes, checked those routines, the routines are fine, but speaking the command to start the routine does not set the routine in motion. Instead, the Google Home responds that it's activating several scenes, as though it doesn't recognize the routine at all.
The error is multiple devices wide, from the different Google Home minis, Google Home, and Google Assistant on a Pixel phone, thus performing resets would not fix as it's not device specific.
Is this a Broadlink error, or a conflict with the Home App update?
Again, the Broadlink RM mini 3 works fine with its own app and successfully activates all scenes. The issue is in using Google to communicate with Broadlink.
