Ifttt commands a few days ago started only working with my voice(I am the creator of the commands and ifttt account). My family has had Google home and home minis in every room of the house for well over a year and all 5 members of my family have been able to use the ifttt commands that I created. I have tried uninstalling the home app, deleted the home with all devices and factory resetting all devices at the same time. I have tried the option the share voice control. I tried setting up ifttt with my account on my wife's phone (wife is an invited member of the group in the home app). Nothing seem to work and we have a large number of home automation devices that now only work for me. Please advise me if their is a way to correct this issue.

Hi Jesse,

While I don't use IFTTT myself, I have done so in the past so can possibly explain why this might be happening. It's not ideal but I do understand why these changes might have happened.

Basically, the Google Home platform is a mix of shared and personal services. On one hand, the ability for anyone to ask for information, or even to play music makes the device shareable which is great in a house, but on the other hand, personal services like Google Assistant shouldn't be shared.

For example, in the past, any Google routines which had been configured by any user connected to the device could be used by any and all users. The problem with this was that routines were a property of Google Assistant, and therefore potentially private to the user that configured them. With the latest changes, it would appear that Google have ensured this is the case now.

IFTTT is a service that integrates with Google Assistant and as such, the applets that you configure are specific to your assistant account. If I understand the latest changes correctly, then this would mean that such connections would only be available to you.

As I said, this isn't ideal, but I do understand the logic behind it.

For reference, this isn't the official word from Google, but my understanding from recent experimentation and trial and error.

Hope this helps,
Jon

We too had the same issue when we added Google Home Hubs to replace some existing Insignia units. We noticed that IFTTT quit responding to her commands for Harmony after she added her Voice Match to the Home Hubs. She can disable her voice match and IFTTT Harmony commands work; turn it back on and they cease to work. The IFTTT and Harmony accounts are linked to my G account, and work as intended with my voice.

This is a little problematic as she wants personalized information on the Home Hubs, as well as control of multiple A/V systems throughout the home via GH, IFTTT and Harmony. She is also an invited Home member.

Our use scenario is 3 Google Home Hubs, 3 GH Minis and 3 Harmony hubs. We have 3 A/V systems to control, as well as mutiple Chromecast audio groups that need to be controlled via the Harmony hubs to turn on/off various audio systems throughout the home. The native Google Home Harmony integration does not support multiple Harmony hubs; hence the need for IFTTT to execute more complex actions that involve multiple Harmony hubs for a given command.

The workaround was a bit tedious, but effective:

1) Create her own IFTTT account.
2) Link her Google Assistant account to her IFTTT account.
3) Link the Harmony account to her IFTTT account.
4) Re-create desired applets for GA and Harmony under her IFTTT account.

While this solution is time consuming (47 applets), it is effective. Further, if she wants to customize any commands, she can do so with her own account and not mess with the "master" set up.

For future reference, if anyone has an easier solution; I am all ears!

I hope this information is helpful.

Yes this works I had to setup ifttt accounts for everyone who needs the applets. Now we all need to push ifttt for an ability to share personal applets. The community applets have the share function but not personally created ones.

Thanks all for your help

Agreed, it would be great to able to share personal applets. That, or the option to link multiple GA accounts in IFTTT.

Happy you got everything working!

this is not fair for those of us not tech savy... alI know is as soon as google voice stopped working somehow these ITFFF.com wise guys must have stopped it from working as they sent me an email saying they knew it and they would fix it... went to their cartoon like website which doesn't help so I am confused... just want google voice ... what should I do ? I think this is an attack on google and myself and take it as such. Will be going to federal court about  this - to me - hacking and hurting my google service. Dear IFTTT if you are reading this - fix my phone before I fix you, jerks. IFTTT even blocks your ability to contact goggle somehow. FYI google google where are you in this????
