Google Home Mini keeps on saying “to get help with that I need more information” 0 Recommended Answers 10 Replies 42 Upvotes

Just set up Google Home Mini but I can’t seem to do anything worthwhile. Such as play music.  It just says “to get help with that, you’ll need to give me some more information. To get help with that you can do that on the Google Home app.

Or if it doesn’t it says “something went wrong, when you’re ready try again”

I’ve set everything up and enabled all services required.  I’ve de-installed it and re-installed and turned it on and off. Which were all the trouble shooting advice

I see the same behavior, i have news sources configured in the app but when I say 'what's the news' I get the 'more information needed' like in OP.

Highly silly that Google assistant in my phone works great.

Going to Activity Controls and enabling Web & App Activity got rid of my Google Home's constant telling me "To get help with that I need more information".  

Google seriously need to get some better information to the user instead of having us search for the solution like a treasure hunter.

I had the same problem, but found that it was because the google home mini had somehow disconnected itself from my account. I had to reset and go through the connection process again

All my activity controls are enabled, I restarted my nest hub and mini, still the problem continues, please help this is so frustrating

 I had the same problem & couldn’t figure out what was happening . If you have a google admin account, you may have to update your settings there, rather than in the user profile. This solved it for me.  Hope it helps.

I have the same problem. Have checked all of the settings, but just can’t get past it, so so frustrating! Does anyone have another tips by chance? Thanks!
