Choosing correct power adaptor for Nest Hello (EU / Sweden). Is mAh output important? 1 Recommended Answer 3 Replies 6 Upvotes

Hi!
About to install my Nest Hello Doorbell but do not have an old doorbell that will be replaced. Have therefore looked for easy installation with a power adaptor.

I did find "Aside from the Indoor Power Adapter (US only), which is made specifically for Nest Hello, third party cables and AC adapters are not recommended or supported." Yikes. Tough since there are no power adaptors offered for us in Europe by Nest.

Nest / Google writes:
In Europe: Works with most low voltage doorbell wires that are 10.8 to 30 V AC as measured by a multimeter, or with a transformer labeled from 12 to 24 V AC, 8 VA or above.

And like I mentioned, I have no pre-wired old doorbell. I need an adapter/transformer.

I noticed the "official" ninety7 adaptor had output 20VAC, 500mAh.

I have found some high quality adapters made in Sweden that have 17V (1200 mA / 1.1A) 20va and 24V (830 mA / 0,83A) 20va.

Heard that the va is not important, important it is above 8.

So, is mA/A important not to overload wiring the Nest Hello? I cold not find any information regarding this. Will I brake Nest Hello using 1200mA or 830mA?

Hi, which adaptor did you get (17V or 24V) and did it work?
