My google home has an orange blinking light on the back that occasionally turns white. Nothing Happens when I try to reconnect. I can not find/connect the device.  It doesent react when I say hey Google. There are no lights on the top. I have tried rebooting the device. I have tried other outlets to make sure the power is on. It is still not responding. Because I can't find it I can't set it up again  doesn’t even show up. It has worked for me before. What do I do?

Just started having this problem, have any of you found solutions?

Edit: After 2 reboots everything is working fine, because of course it is

Yug, now mine too. Multiple resets and reboots later the device is broadly unresponsive. The state changes between boot ups, but it neither works nor is discoverable.

And then finally, it just worked. Really bad UX.

Mine literally just stopped working as well. Light on the back keeps alternated between white and orange. Factory reset didn't work and now I can't even factory reset a second time.

My chromecast burned out last night and now my Google Home is down... Not really happy with all this. I have tried everything and nothing is working. I left it unplugged for 10 minutes and nothing. I press the mute button to factory reset and it doesn't work. My app connected to it for like 2 minutes then it didn't work again

Same problem here. I have 2 minis, 1 JBL Link 20, 1 Nest Hub, and 2 Home speakers. One of the Home units isn't responding while all of the rest are fine. I'm guessing that there was an error with an update that was pushed. Anybody else here part of the preview program?

Mine broke this morning around 5AM EST.

Google Home speaker bought before nest branding, tried rebooting and it seemed like it was going to work again but then the LED began to blink orange again..

I think it was a bad download through the preview program. Just noticed that mine had this issue but only affects my two Google homes which are are in the PVP. My Google minis are unaffected.

Wait, it looks like all of us are having this issue in the same morning. Mine stopped responding the same as everyone else's & looks like it stopped at the almost same time, as well. That's really weird. I noticed mine having identical issues as everyone else here at around 5am (EST) today (1-24-20).
I have run through all of the troubleshooting suggestions, as well as the factory resets, switching outlets, switching wifi, etc. Still no response from the device.

Mine is now doing the same. Tried power off & on many times. Tried factory reset. Nothing. Its flipping back and forth from flashing & stead orange to steady white.

I cannot now even get it to force reset or go through normal reboot. There is no start up music, rainbow colors, etc. it’ll boot if unplugged into 4 yellow dots that then go away. Now stuck at steady orange in back.

Mine went down too (only my Google Home, all minis and Google Home Hubs were fine). Did multiple reboots by unplugging, and only managed one factory reset before it froze. Try unblinking the device from your account first, then unplug the device for a few seconds. When it's plugged back in, try to Factory Reset again, by holding down mic button. This seems to have reset mine enough to go through setup again and get it working. This is no doubt a bad update that was pushed. Good luck, I hope this fix lasts or Google is going to have a fun time dealing with us all!!!

Same here in Ireland. Google Home was also in the preview program. Down since mid-morning.

Flashing orange , doesn't make the chime saying its connecting.
Can only factory reset once and is no longer discoverable by Google home app.

Same here in Germany. I have done the reset but after that, the orange light is blinking as before reset. I have counted 25 blinks after the led ist showing white for maybe 30 seconds. After then, it's blinking orange 25 times.

Hi everyone!

I now know what the problem is.
My Google home Mini gen1 didn't respond to my "turn on the light" command when I came home today. Since I knew it's in the preview program I did a factory reset and connected to my 5 ghz wifi. Google home couldn't configure the device so i tried again but on the 2.4 ghz wifi and then it worked.
But the original problem was a firmware update from the preview program. When i did a factory reset the device was not in the preview anymore and was working fine.
It also found my voice recognition data and was easily finished with the setup.
I will not let it be in the preview program again.
It's my own fault that it didn't work. If I was in stable release I wouldn't have any problems.
However I'm a little bit disappointed that Sweden still hasn't got the same features as in English. I would like to come home and say " Hey Google turn on all lights and play Faithfully with Journey in the livingroom" now this has to be said in two separate commands.
A pro tip to you Google: And is spelled "och" in Swedish, that's the only difference ;)
