How to change Google Home playback speaker source without opening the app? 0 Recommended Answers 3 Replies 60 Upvotes

Hi, I've just set up my bluetooth soundbar in the Home app, setting it as the default speaker for my Home mini. However, as soon as the soundbar is turned off, this default reverts back to the Home speaker, and I have to go back into the app to manually choose the bluetooth again. I've tried a voice command, "connect to bluetooth", and the Home device confirms it has connected to the bluetooth soundbar, but it still plays on the Home mini. Is there really no voice command to get it to play on the soundbar once it says it's connected? It's very useless to have to go into the app on my phone to select it, when a simple voice command should be available.
I can't even get it to change the speaker source while playing (ie from Home speaker to the bluetooth soundbar, or Home to my chromecast (which would turn on the TV, activating the bluetooth but needlessly have the TV on, and also doesn't work with all my audio services, such as TunedIn), or bluetooth back to Home).
I'm in Canada, if that limits the available options at all.
