Issue connecting Yale Smart Living alarm to Google Home 1 Recommended Answer 8 Replies 10 Upvotes

Hi -

I've previously had my Yale Smart Living house alarm connected successfully to my Google Mini / Home / Hub through the Google Home app. However, when trying to set the alarm recently the assistant would advise that she couldn't reach Yale Smart Living.

I therefore disconnected the service through my Google Home app.

Now, when I try to connect the service again through the Google Home app, I can select Yale Smart Living from the list of Services and enter my username and password successfully. However, I'm then moved back to the list of Services and Yale is in the list of 'Add New' Services rather than in the 'Linked Services'.

I can't reconnect it as a Service. Any ideas? I've tried restarting my phone, my Google devices and the Yale Alarm.

Thanks.

I didn’t know Google Home was supported! I’ve just added the service and can see the panel, but have no idea what commands to use! There doesn’t seem to be anything about Google Home support on the Yale site? Thanks!

I also didn't know there was Smart Living app integration, I've just added and can see "arm" commands but can't see disarm commands, do you have to add custom command?

I guess that is a security mode. Anyone can arm the alarm but you dont want to allow everyone to walk in and ask google to disarm the alarm.

Oddly the script works to arm, but then says device not supported, so maybe a Yale issue.

fantastic, will try this today! I successfully linked it to google but did not know which commands to use... can I get some hints???

The only command I knew was to ask if the door/window sensors are open, which is a bit useless on its own, however combine it with this notification hack and you'll be able to do an action with a notification that the status has changed:
