Minus the doorbell is working perfectly fine for almost 2 months, and the other day it just disconnected and appears to be completely dead. I try ringing the doorbell and holding the doorbell button

Hi Leigh,

Sorry to hear about that. A few questions — are there any lights on the doorbell? What are you seeing in the Nest App home screen? Are there any changes made on your network?

Here are some steps we can try:
  1. Make sure you have the  adequate power to the doorbell. Nest Hello needs to be powered by wires delivering 16 - 24 V AC, and at least 10 VA (in North America) or 12 - 24 V AC and at least 8 VA (in Europe). Note: Make sure that your breakers are off before checking voltage.
  2. Check if wires has no damage and connected properly.
  3. Restart the Google Nest Doorbell.
Let us know how it goes.

Best,
Steve

Nope, no lights. On the app, it just says doorbell disconnected. No changes on the network or overall power. What is strange is that it was working for a while, with no changes to the power, so not sure what went wrong.

SOLVED for now, I actually pulled it out of the wall. plugged it directly to a wall plug with the USB c connector in the back, waiting few min. the unit came back up and i kept it plug for another 10min. Unplugged and placed back on the door. All good for now.

I'm having the same issue. Worked for about a year, then just stopped all together. Disconnect the unit. Disconnected the wiring through chimes. Reconnected and it worked for a min then died again. I did connect via USB and it came on and even recorded via. Reconnected it again, and nothing.

I’m having the same issue.... I have 19.8v at the nest hello. Worked for a few days after purchase now it’s dead. My back door hello which is connected to the same bell is working fine. Any ideas? Return/exchange?

I'm having the same issue.  My nest hello was working for several months, then went dark.  No lights, not able to reset.  I confirmed 25 VAC at the nest hello.  The chime works properly when I manually close the circuit without the nest hello.  The nest hello works properly when powered with the USB-C cord.  When I power it from the 25 VAC nothing turns on.

Hi folks,

Thanks for bringing this up.
Thanks for letting us know. Let's make sure all sides are looked at.

Here are some steps we need to check:
  1. Ensure that we are using the chime connector.
  2. Verify that we don’t have any loose wiring or exposed wires.
  3. Verify all wiring connections are completed correctly, secure, and free from corrosion or paint.
  4. Verify the type of chime (e.g. mechanical or electrical).
  5.  Since you are using an electrical chime, set chime duration.
  6. Make sure that the transformer meets the voltage requirement ( between 16 and 30V or 12-24V for Europe).
Let us know how it goes.

Best,
Steve

The problem I am continuing to have occurs after any interruption in the AC power (power outage or just turning off the breaker to work on the circuit).  When the power comes back on, the NEST hello remains completely dead every time.  This has happened a few times since my post last December.  The only way I have been able to get it working again is to disconnect both of the wires from the terminals on the back of the NEST hello.  Then, plug it in via USB to a computer, laptop, or wall charger.  It then boots normally for me and appears on my NEST App as well as Google Home.  After about 15-minutes, I unplug the USB (unit turns off), reconnect the AC wires to the terminals and reinstall by the front door.  All is fine until the next power outage...  At least I know what to do and I'm getting quicker at it. -Jaret
