Google account support missing from Nest TV apps (Apple TV and Android TV apps) - WHY??? 1 Recommended Answer 112 Replies 249 Upvotes

So I migrated from a Nest account to a Google account with no problems on my Android and iOS devices.  Then I found out that the Nest TV apps do not support Google login yet, so I am essentially locked out and cannot see my Nest cameras via the Nest apps on either the Nvidia Shield of my Apple TV.  

WHEN WILL the TV APPS BE UPDATED?   Further, how can a company offer migration on something as important and account access / login , and NOT have all apps updated?  Since the Nest account login is now gone, it gives me a "incorrect password" error and I can't use that on the TV apps, and since the TV apps aren't updated yet to support the Google logins, I can't use that.  

It's extremely frustrating since I pay lots of money monthly for Nest aware on 7 cameras and I am used to using one of my TVs to view the cameras.  

So once again I ask - WHEN will the Nest TV apps be updated?

Well thanks for responding, however this is really unacceptable as a Nest user.  I don't know why I should continue to pay Nest every month for a service that I no longer can use the way I have been for years.  

      It's stunning that functionality is now broken, and that you have broken TV apps with no specific time frame to fix this issue you created.  This feels like I am dealing with a start up company, not Google.  Come on here.

This would have been a wonderful thing to actually TELL users in the areas where Google and Nest are telling users about the migration.  If I had known this, I would never have migrated.  

I have always recommended Nest to all my friends who ask about cameras for their homes.  It is so much harder to do so , now that there are no available TV apps to use.

It's just a pointless canned response.  Melba posted the exact same on another thread word for word.  And then he/she flags his/her response as the best.  Like a self congratulation for being useless.

Yes, and it super frustrating. It’s hard to fathom such poor planning for something so crucial as account access.

This is a serious problem, the Nest/Google should not have recommended changing or migrating to a Google account (from a Nest account) if the Apple TV app doesn’t work
