I’m trying to add to my grocery list and he will listen and then say he can’t edit any lists because he can’t verify my voice. Sometimes he will do it but mostly he won’t.  I’ve verified my voice numerous times, uninstalled/reinstalled the app, unplugged it, I can’t seem to get him to work no matter what I try.

Same problem and it's super annoying.  We did nothing to our accounts so something changed on the backend.

Google made it required to have voice match to use shopping list. So dumb

Super annoying!! And I just talked to support and they said it has always been that way...Ummm..no. No it hasn't. Bye bye google, hello alexa.

Exactly the same problem for me too - it started sometime back in October 2018 I think. Obviously a software update that has compromised the voice recognition. I don't understand why it's needed anyway just for a shopping list! You should have the option to just switch voice recognition off.

Same issue here! It's been this way for a few weeks. Everyone in our household uses our Google and we loved that we could all easily add items to the same shopping list. Now it only registers me, unless my husband sets up voice match. But, if he sets up voice match, it adds things to a separate shopping list for him. It's super inconvenient compared to before when everyone could use it. I hope they fix this problem soon! Also when I was sick all last week, it wouldn't recognize my voice. So all the list features were useless. Ugh.

This worked for me...on your device, open Google home app. Delete your account. Next add your account back in. After signing back in, go to voice match and choose Delete voice match from all devices. Then do your voice match again. If done correctly it will tell you to try asking it Who am I? Do it,. I have multiple devices and probably one did not know who I was and caused all the others to not know either. Hope this also works for you!

I managed to fix this issue for our house, if my setup sounds familiar then might work for you too. My wife and I were using the Home to add to our shopping list for months, but then my wife got her own Pixel and a few weeks later we got the issue described here for both of us. Except sometimes Google would also say "you have 2 lists of similar names, so I added {X item} to your most recently used list called Shopping List". Now I realised that her and I use MY shopping list under my account which I shared with her. But she also has her own one by default in her account. So we just renamed her list "Shopping List 2" and so far we've been good!! Very frustrating that it was so simple, put up with the issue for months. Hope this helps

That's why I'm here too! Is there a solution to this problem? My assistant has been acting crazy for a while. Says she can't recognize my voice. Sometimes answers me in German, when I ask her a question in English. (We have both languages activated.) Will not add my items to my primary shopping list, instead makes a new list called shopping list.  I reset the thing at least once per week. What's the problem? It was not like this before.
