Unable to link 3rd party services 0 Recommended Answers 50 Replies 180 Upvotes

I recently added a new device to Home assistant that I wanted to be able to control through Google Home.  Since the device did not automatically show up, I tried to manually un-link/re-link the service.  I am using the manual setup instructions on the Google Assistant component.  It worked perfectly on 1/11/19, but this is the first time I have tried re-linking a service in a long time.

When I attempt to re-link the test app, it seems to successfully sign in (it shows up in the Home Assistant logs), but instead of adding any devices it immediately takes me back to the screen where I choose the service I want to add.

Here are some of the things I tried:
* deleting the whole test project and creating a new one
* clearing the browser cache om my phone (pixel 2)
* Attempting to add a different service (tried both hass.io and controlicz) through the Home app
* Tried adding the service while not connected to my home network (using phone data plan instead of wifi)
* Restart my home network
* Tried to add the service from multiple devices (Nexus 7 and Samsung Chromebook Pro)
* Installed a different browser on my phone in case it was caused by the Chrome app while trying to authenticate

Has anyone else had this sort of problem lately?  If so, and you were able to fix it, what did you do?

I have the same device (Pixel 2) and am having the same issue. The very same services I have been using for almost two years suddenly started having issues. When I went to unlink them and relink them, they would not relink. They go through the process fine, and even show up in the "linked services" area for a split second before disappearing.

I am unable to use ANY of my smart services. Google, fix this.

Same here. My Broadlink stopped working. Tried to relink. Says "accounts now linked" but doesn't redirect back. When going back to the service list nothing changed there and no accounts are linked.

Had the same issues with Arlo and TP-Link... In a chat with google, it was determined that the issue is that chrome isn't my default browser on my phone. I switched it, closed everything, and then everything linked and works fine.

My arlo will not show video feed on Google home app.   I have arlo working correctly on the arlo app.  I have got arlo to sync with Samsung smartthings and it shows the video feed and I can take a picture or record if I want.  I have Google home set up and linked to Arlo account. But everytime I go to look at any of the cameras in the video feed in Google home it tries to connect but then says that it cant connect.  Happens on every try, different devices, reset Google home and reconnected everything. Still nothing.    How frustrating.  I'm trying to connect it to my chromecast so I can pull up any camera on any TV at any time throughout the house

My nest hello works perfectly tho, I cabt get a pair of singled light bulb speakers to sync and a generic light strip won't sync either.

Mine is also not working anymore. They appear in the linked services at https://myaccount.google.com/accountlinking but NOT in the Google Home app. I have now uninstalled and reinstalled the app, deleted its cache, and delete my Home and all data. I have absolutely no faith this will work or that Google will EVER respond to any of the multiple threads discussing this issue. It might be time to move to Alexa.

EDIT: I also tried a different phone and a different Google account. This is, for me at least, for Samsung SmartThings and LG SmatThinq

Found a solution!

Download bluestack or use another device and login into the Google Home app. I was able to to fully link my account. Reach out to me on Twitter @Nascarfanatc24 if you need help!

BIG THANKS TO NATHAN IT WORKED FOR ME HOPEFULLY IT WORKS FOR YALL.

After searching much of the forums, it was clear it was an issue with the authorisation certificates.

I was able to relink my device by ensuring it was unlinked properly.
-Unlink the device in Google Home
-Unlink the device in your Google account
-Unlink or revoke priviledges in the devices' account.

This third step was crucial. I was using Lifx smart bulbs and found that on my Lifx account, Google was still listed as connected even after unlinking in Google Home. After revoking those priviledges I was able to re-add the device successfully into Google home as Lifx would now properly reissue the certificate.

Hope that helps some of you.
