You can add your thermostat to a free account to control it from your phone, change settings remotely, get important notifications, and more.

Connect your thermostat to the Nest app
Connecting your thermostat to the Nest app is simple, there are few steps:
1. Connect your thermostat to your Wi-Fi network
To connect your thermostat to Wi-Fi:
- Press your thermostat’s ring to open the Quick View menu.
- Select the Settings icon

- Choose Network.
- Your thermostat will take a moment to scan for available networks. Choose your home Wi-Fi network from the list.
- Enter your password if prompted.

2. Download the Nest app
If you need to get the Nest app on your phone or tablet, you can download it for free from the Apple App Store or from Google Play.
You can also use your computer’s web browser to go to home.nest.com.
3. Create a free account in the Nest app
You’ll see a button to Sign up for a free account on the Nest app login screen. You’ll need to enter your email address and choose a password. Once you’ve signed up you’ll receive a confirmation email.

4. Add your thermostat to your account in the Nest app
Note: You’ll need to be able to touch your thermostat to add it to your account in the Nest app. This means that you won’t be able to add it remotely. After you’ve added your thermostat to your account you’ll be able to use the Nest app on your phone, tablet, or computer to control your thermostat from anywhere.
To connect your Nest thermostat to your account, you’ll get an entry key from your thermostat and enter it with the Nest app.
