Learn about the Nest app

The free Nest app lets you set up your Nest products, check their status, change their settings and get notifications when something happens.

The Nest app helps you keep an eye on things and
stay connected to your Nest products anywhere you
have an Internet connection.

For instance, with the Nest app, you can change the
temperature or view your energy usage on your Google Nest Thermostat, get smoke and carbon monoxide alerts
from your Google Nest Protect, watch Google Nest camera video

Get notifications on your phone or tablet

You'll need to install the Nest app in order to receive alerts on your phone or tablet when something happens. You'll also need a working Wi-Fi Internet connection in your home.

Nest notifications appear in the same place that other notifications, like calendar reminders and new emails, are displayed on your phone or tablet. They're usually at the top of the screen.

For example, you can be notified when your Nest Protect detects smoke or carbon monoxide, when your Nest thermostat turns on your system, when your home reaches its safety temperature, or when your Nest camera detects activity.
