Remove Nest camera or doorbell from its stand or mount

If you didn’t install your camera with a power cable, you’ll need to remove it periodically to charge the battery. 

Remove the secure loop from the wall mount

If you have the Secure loop installed, use these instructions to remove it.

1. Open the loop by pulling down on its tab until it can slip off the wall mount. 
2. After you’ve removed the camera, you can use the loop as a wrist strap to safely carry the camera.

Remove your camera from the wall mount

The wall mount uses a strong magnet. Grip the base of the camera and pull it away from the plate.

Remove your camera from the stand

To remove your camera from the stand, simply grip the base of the camera stand, and then pull the camera away from the base.

Remove your camera from the wall mount

The Nest Cam Indoor attaches to the metal wall plate with a strong magnet. To remove it from the wall plate, grip the base of the camera and pull it away from the metal plate.

Remove your camera from the magnetic stand

To remove your camera from the stand, grip the metal ring at the top of the stand and turn to unscrew the ring.

• If you placed your Nest Cam IQ Indoor on a surface like a shelf, you don’t need to do anything else. The stand and base are not detachable from the camera head.
• If you installed your camera with the wall mount, rotate the camera’s base until it unscrews from the mount. Then you can remove the screws that hold the mount in place on your wall or ceiling.

• Note: If you attached your camera to a tripod, make sure that you grip the camera’s base when removing it from the tripod.

Use the release tool included in the box. If you don't have the tool, you can use a flat-head screwdriver. Insert the tool or screwdriver into the hole at the top of the doorbell, then pull the doorbell up and away from the wall.

To remove your Nest Doorbell (wired) from the base, use the included release tool. You can also use a paperclip or thumbtack.

1. Insert the tool into the hole on the bottom of your doorbell.
2. Press upward until your doorbell snaps off the base.
3. Grip the bottom of your doorbell and pull it away from the wall and off the base.

Your Nest Cam Outdoor attaches to this metal plate with a strong magnet. To remove your camera from the base, simply grip the camera and pull away from the magnet.
