The name of a Tag will always be the name of the person it’s assigned to in the Nest app, but you can also add a custom label if you want. For example, if you have multiple Tags assigned to the same person, give each one a unique label to tell them apart.
Custom labels can help you keep track of your Tags. For example, the Nest app’s Security History will show you when different people used their Tags to arm or disarm throughout the day. If someone in your family has two Tags assigned to them, a custom label can show you which Tag they used each time.
How to add or change Tag’s label
You can add or change the label of any Tag that’s assigned to you or to someone with Home Entry Only access. If a Tag is currently assigned to someone else who has Full access, that person will need to use the Nest app to change their Tag’s label.
Here’s how to change Tag’s label:
- Tap Settings on the Nest app home screen.
- Scroll through the list of products and select the Tag you want to change.
Note: Labels must be unique. If you try to give two Tags the same label, the Nest app won’t let you
