In some cases, you may find that mounting your camera on a ceiling or overhang gives you the best angle for what you want to watch. But this also means that your video may be tilted or even upside down. No problem, it’s easily fixed: you can either twist the camera, or flip the video with the Nest app.
Twist the camera
If you just need to straighten a tilted image, try twisting your camera in its stand or its mounting magnet (depending on your model).

Flip the video with the Nest app
You can turn your camera image right side up, either by turning the camera or rotating the image in the Nest app. The Nest app lets you rotate the video 180° but if you need to adjust your camera more (or less), you’ll need to turn it as described above.
- On the Nest app home screen, select the camera you want to control.
- In the top right corner, tap Settings
.
- Select Rotate Image
.
- This will flip your video 180°.
If you ever move your camera and need to flip the video back to its original orientation, you can simply follow the same steps to rotate the image again.
Note: This feature is not available for the Nest Cam IQ Outdoor. Remember, you can always physically adjust your Nest Cam IQ Outdoor. It supports 360° rotation, so you’ll always be able to turn your image right side up. |
