Link your TV to your Google Nest or Home speaker or display

When you link your TVs and Google Nest or Home speakers or displays, you can use your voice assistant to control music and video.

What you need

The following cast devices can play media on your TV using speakers or displays:

• Chromecast
• Chromecast Ultra
• TV that works with Google Cast

Link a TV or Chromecast that's set up and connected to Wi-Fi

Make sure that your phone or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi or Google Account as your speaker, display, Google streaming devices or Pixel Tablet.

• Check if your devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.
• Find out which Google Account is linked to your speaker or display.

1. Open the Google Home app .
2. Tap Home   All , then touch and hold your device's tile.
3. Tap Add to a room.
4. Under 'Where is this device?', choose a room
5. Tap Next to finish assigning the device to the room.

Link a new TV or Chromecast that's set up and connected to Wi-Fi

Important: If you get an 'Error when linking device' error message, you'll need to factory reset your Chromecast device.

Make sure that your phone or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi or Google Account as your speaker, display, Google streaming devices or Pixel Tablet.

• Check if your devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.
• Find out which Google Account is linked to your speaker or display.

1. Open the Google Home app .
2. From the Home tab, tap Add Device Search for device .
3. Tap the home that you want to add the device to Next.
4. Tap the device that you want to set up. The app will search for available devices and guide you through the rest of the setup.

Unlink a device

Make sure that your phone or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi or Google Account as your speaker, display, Google streaming devices or Pixel Tablet.

• Check if your devices are on the same Wi-Fi network.
• Find out which Google Account is linked to your speaker or display.

1. Open the Google Home app .
2. Tap Home   All , then touch and hold your device's tile.
3. Tap Settings Remove device.
