When you link your TVs and Google Nest or Home speakers or displays, you can use Google Assistant to control music and video.
What you need
The following Cast devices can play media on your TV using speakers or displays:
- Chromecast
- Chromecast Ultra
- TV with Chromecast built-in
Link a TV or Chromecast that’s already set up and connected to your network
- Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as your Chromecast, or speaker or display.
- Open the Google Home app

- Touch and hold your device's tile.
- Tap Add to a room
Choose a home
Next
Move device.
- Under "Where is this device?" choose a room
tap Next.
Set up and link a new TV
- Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as your Chromecast, or speaker or display.
- Open the Google Home app

- At the top left, tap Add

New device

- Tap the home you want to add the device to
Next.
- Tap the device you want to set up
Next.
- Make sure that the code shown on the TV matches the code shown on your mobile device.
- To send anonymous data that helps us improve devices, tap Yes, I'm in. To opt out, tap No thanks.
- Tap the room where you're setting up your device
Next.
- Tap the Wi-Fi network you want to connect your device to
Next.
- Tap Next.
- To choose whether to receive emails about your device, tap Sign up or No thanks.
- Choose which video services you want to add
Next.
- Tap Continue
Continue.
Note: If you get an "Error when linking device" error message, you must factory reset your Chromecast device.
Unlink a device
- Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi or linked to the same account as your Chromecast, or speaker or display.
- Open the Google Home app

- Touch and hold your device's tile.
- Tap Settings
Remove device.
