Customise your news experience

You can select your preferred news sources and customise the news format on your Google Nest or Home speaker or display.

Customise your news preferences

1. Make sure that your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi network or linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
2. Open the Google Home app .
3. Tap your account.
4. Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to your Google device. If correct, tap Close to exit the account window. To switch accounts, tap the drop-down another account or Add another account.
5. Go to your device's list of news sources.
   • For Android: Tap Settings Google Assistant Manage all Assistant settings News.
   • For iOS: Tap Assistant settings News.
6. Add, remove or reorder news sources.

Change your news playlist format

Important: This feature is only available in the US.

1. Make sure that your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi network or linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
2. Open the Google Home app .
3. Tap your account.

4. Verify that the Google Account shown is the one linked to your Google device. If correct, tap Close to exit the account window. To switch accounts, tap the drop-down another account or Add another account.

5. Tap Assistant settings News.
6. To decide which news format you prefer, tap Change news playlist format.
