Check that Google Nest or Google Home is on the same Wi-Fi network as mobile phone or tablet

To set up Google Nest or Google Home speaker or display, use voice commands, and adjust Assistant settings, Google Nest or Google Home must be on the same Wi-Fi network as your mobile device or tablet. 

Step 1. Check the Wi-Fi network of mobile device or tablet 

  1. Locate and tap Settings  and then Wi-Fi.
  2. The Wi-Fi network labeled "Connected" is the network you're connected to. This must match the network that the device is connected to. 
  3. To change the network,
    • Tap a new network and then enter password and then Connect.
    • If you've entered the password for that network before, tap Connect. 

Step 2. Check the Wi-Fi network of Google Nest or Google Home 

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap your Google Nest or Google Home device.
  3. At the top right corner, tap Settings   "Wi-Fi."
