How Google Wifi works with OnHub

Google Wifi and OnHub work together seamlessly to bring better coverage to more parts of your home.

Note: OnHub isn’t compatible with Google Nest Wifi routers or Google Nest Wifi points.

Learn how to add a Google Wifi point to an existing Google network.

Works with OnHub

If you have an OnHub and need more coverage, you can add a Google Wifi point to your existing network to build a mesh Wi-Fi network.

Note: The term "point" includes OnHub. OnHub can act as a point in your Google Wifi system.

What's a mesh network?

Google Wifi is built on our new mesh Wi-Fi technology. Within our mesh network, each point creates a high-powered connection, and they work together to determine the best path between points for your data.

The result is fast Wi-Fi everywhere in your house, not just right next to the router. You can even roam throughout the house while on a video call or while streaming a movie without the signal dropping.

Same app, simple setup

Google Wifi and OnHub can both be set up in the Google Home app. The app will walk you through setting up Google Wifi.

Any additional points will add on to your existing network, so there’s no need to create a new Wi-Fi name or password.
