There are several ways to control the volume of Google Assistant, your media, timers, and alarms on Google Nest or Home devices.
Control volume by voice
Control volume with these voice commands.
Note: Voice commands to control volume don’t work for alarms and timers.

Media
- Make sure your mobile device or tablet is linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
- Open the Google Home app

- Tap the current media session for:
- Playback controls
- Volume control
- Playback device control.
Alarms and timers
- Make sure your mobile device or tablet is connected to the same Wi-Fi network or linked to the same account as your speaker or display.
- Open the Google Home app
.
- Touch and hold your device's tile.
- At the top right, tap Settings
Audio
Alarms & Timers.
- Adjust the volume.
Control volume from the Nest display screen
To control the volume of your media, alarms and timers from your Nest display, follow these steps:
- From the top of the screen, swipe down to open the quick settings menu.
- To adjust the volume, tap one of the gray dots. Tap left to turn down the volume or tap right to turn it up.
